Amplify Additive is pleased to welcome two new members to its Additive Manufacturing team.

Jeff Laniewski, Vice President of Operations, brings more than 30 years of senior-level business operations experience to the Amplify team. He began his Maine career developing and managing the procurement, supply chain, and logistics divisions at IDEXX Laboratories, ultimately growing their distribution and logistics operations across five continents.

His experience managing healthcare operations was on full display as COO of Synernet, Inc. During this time, the business expanded to encompass six separate operating divisions, servicing hospital systems throughout North America. This growth led to a successful buyout and sale to MaineHealth, Inc.

Most recently, Jeff utilized his experiences to teach Entrepreneurship and Business Marketing classes to high school students in Arizona. That program was recognized by Governor Ducey and the Arizona State Legislature for its innovative and creative approach to youth education. Jeff and his wife have moved back to Maine, and enjoy golfing, skiing, hiking, and time with their two grandchildren.

He states: “I am excited to return to Maine and join the Amplify team in developing new and advanced designs for the orthopedic implant market. Additive manufacturing is leading the shift to innovative product design management because it enables manufacturing capabilities that were previously not possible through conventional manufacturing methodology. In Amplify’s market, these new designs lead to improved clinical outcomes, recovery time, and patient satisfaction.

I have been involved with the design and development of several successful early-stage companies. My background closely aligns with Brian’s entrepreneurial and innovative nature. The energy and passion the team brings daily is exciting and, quite frankly, visible to our current and prospective customers. Most importantly, however, is that Amplify’s core values of integrity, accountability, and transparency are aligned with those that I’ve cultivated throughout my business career.”

Andre Clement, Industrial Designer, has experience in a variety of design-oriented businesses and companies. Previously, Andre ran his consultancy, Clement Collaborative Design (CXD). He interned as User Experience Strategist at BEAM Interactive in Boston, where he worked alongside senior strategists to gain deeper experience and skills in strategy, measurement, and research aspects of digital marketing and experience design.

Andre held a position at SCA Development International, a high-end furniture design consultancy based out of Natick, MA. He was also a 2017 summer-member of Blue Cross Blue Shield’s innovation team, which focused on using design thinking methodologies and practices for research and development for new health solutions.

Andre is a graduate from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design. Andre lives close to Bradbury Mountain State Park – one of the many places you can find him mountain biking. Andre is also the Social Coordinator for IDSA Portland (ME) Chapter, where he aims to highlight, establish, and grow the industrial design community in Maine.

Andre states: “I have always looked for ways to use my design skills to help others. Now, helping others has a whole new meaning. I have the opportunity to contribute to the design and development of 3D-printed titanium orthopedic implants that will end up inside another human being, knowing it will better their life. I am surrounded by an extremely talented group of individuals who all bring a different knowledge set to the table. I get to work with leading-edge technology, all while doing what I love: designing to improve the lives of others.

As an industrial designer, you have to have a malleable mindset and look at a challenge from every possible angle, but within the constraints of your industry’s design space. With additive manufacturing, your design space drastically changes. Those traditional manufacturing constraints are removed and a door opens to an ocean of possibilities. We intend on exploring new and innovative solutions.”
