CEO & Founder
Brian is the founder of Amplify Additive. He is passionate about orthopedics and is well-versed in all aspects of advanced manufacturing – from the industry’s leading innovators and product development to commercialization strategies and business trends. Creative and entrepreneurial by nature, Brian’s attention is on identifying opportunities for new business development in existing and emerging orthopedic markets, and in assisting companies looking to leverage AM technology.
Brian and his team at Amplify are focused on advancing Additive Manufacturing for Orthopedics, utilizing GE Additive’s Arcam Electron Beam Melting (EBM) technology for innovative implant solutions across all indications. Brian has experience across all industry lines in the orthopedic market including design & manufacturing for a leading CMO; as a clinical specialist working directly with surgeons; as the VP of Engineering and co-founder of a Foot & Ankle implant company leveraging AM for implants; and now as the leader at Amplify Additive. Brian has a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Vermont.
Brian lives in Yarmouth, ME with his wife and two sons. In addition to his passion for the orthopedic market, he enjoys playing and coaching soccer, alpine skiing, cycling, running and occasionally golfing.
VP - Operations
Jeff brings more than 30 years of senior level business operations experience to the Amplify team. He began his Maine career developing and managing the procurement, supply chain and logistics divisions at IDEXX Laboratories, ultimately growing their distribution and logistics operations across five continents.
His experience managing healthcare operations was on full display as COO of Synernet, Inc. During this time the business expanded to encompass 6 separate operating divisions, servicing hospital systems throughout North America. This growth led to a successful buyout and sale to MaineHealth, Inc.
Most recently Jeff utilized his experiences to teach Entrepreneurship and Business Marketing classes to high school students in Arizona, with that program being recognized by Governor Ducey and the State Legislature for its innovative and creative approach to our youth.
Jeff and his wife have moved back to Maine and enjoy golfing, skiing, hiking, their two grandchildren, and their Puerto Rican rescue dog named Rummy.
VP - Business Development
Ryan was an orthopedic implant distributor & sales representative in the New England region, before his work and investment in Amplify Additive. His work included support of surgeons in the Operating Room environment where he gained valuable clinical experience and procedural knowledge. His focus was on 3D printed implant solutions, as well as reconstructive and general surgery.
Ryan has extensive experience in the study and development of oncological therapeutic applications, addressing chemoradiation-induced dermatitis and oral mucositis. He worked in tandem with the Lead Principal Investigator/MD, & the Director of the Radiation Oncology Department at a leading Cancer Center in Virginia. Ryan helped to evaluate and develop a therapeutic application to address the side effects of cancer treatment. The product was approved for funding subsequent clinical trials.
Ryan is well-versed in consumer product development for global health markets. He maintained professional roles as the Director of Sales & Marketing with Synernet, Inc., and as a Diagnostic Sales Consultant with IDEXX Laboratories. He holds his Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Bentley University.
Ryan enjoys comedy, tennis, and creative ideation. He is driven by the opportunity to make the first additively manufactured, fully-functional, kinematically perfect total ankle replacement.
Senior AM Applications Manager
Jonathan supports the team by managing EBM technology in the production of orthopedic and medical devices. Jonathan has extensive experience in the additive manufacturing field from his prior position at GE Additive. Jonathan joined Arcam EBM as an Applications Engineer and was responsible for managing customer technical issues North America wide, holding training courses to teach new and current EBM Users on the technology, and providing technical support for pre-and-post sales activities. He continued to hold this position before and after GE’s acquisition of Arcam EBM and provided EBM knowledge and expertise to GE Additive during his tenure. He now provides this expertise to Amplify Additive.
Jonathan started his career in the aerospace industry as a Materials and Process Engineer, first at Sikorsky Aircraft and then joining GE Aviation primarily managing and R&D of special processes such as carburization, shot peening, and thermal spray. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Jonathan’s hobbies include weightlifting, travel, and sci-fi novels. He and his wife reside in Reading, MA.
Andre Clement brings a variety of design-oriented skills and mindsets to Amplify Additive. Throughout his design career, Andre has helped businesses and companies with operations including 2D & 3D concept development, manufacturer sourcing, visual and brand strategy, and print and new media advertising. Projects covered a diverse industry landscape, including outdoor adventure gear, dog products, and experiential design for virtual-reality walkthroughs of architectural buildings.
Andre has also mentored alongside senior strategists at BEAM Interactive to gain deeper experience and skills in strategy, research aspects of digital marking and experience design, as well as assist in designing user interfaces. Andre is also a design thinking catalyst and coach from his time as a summer member of Blue Cross Blue Shield’s innovation team where he focused on using design thinking methodologies and practices for research and development for new health solutions.
Andre is a graduate from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design. Andre loves to mountain bike and is also the Social Coordinator for IDSA Portland (ME) Chapter, where he aims to highlight, establish, and grow the industrial design community in Maine.
