Additive Manufacturing
Redefining PossibilitiesWhy Additive manufacturing?
The 4th Industrial Revolution
Additive Manufacturing (AM) is where technology, sustainability, and efficiency intertwine. Also known as 3D printing, AM is a transformative approach to traditional manufacturing and production. We now can create lighter, stronger components, all while reducing material waste.
When you work with our team, you get access to a suite of software we leverage to create unique, lightweight structures with clear clinical benefits.
AM allows for complex lattice structures that significantly accelerate healing by promoting osseointegration, improving the implant effectiveness & boosting the patient’s long-term quality of life.

Understanding the Technology
How does Additive Manufacturing work?
Additive manufacturing, compared to subtractive (traditional) manufacturing, in the simplest of terms, adds material to create an object. In comparison, traditional processes removed material through machining, milling, or shaping material.
This process of using computer-aided design (CAD) software to guide a machine to deposit material in a fine layer, over and over to produce precise geometric designs.
At Amplify Additive, we leverage both Electron Beam Melting (EBM) and Direct Laser Metal Sintering (DMLS), which are both Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) processes. We are able to melt layers and sub-layers of ultra-fine titanium powder into complex and intricate 3D forms. Designers now have the freedom to produce high-quality products with unlimited design capabilities.
